A couple of years ago I had a chance to visit one of my dream destinations for the first time-Maldives and as expected I was completely blown away. It simply is one of the most beautiful, serene and relaxing places I have ever been to. The beaches are white as snow, the water is clear blue and everybody is nice, positive and always smiling.
I stayed at the One&Only Reethi Rah Hotel, which is located in the biggest island in the Maldives and even so it takes no more than half an hour to tour the whole island on a bike or one of the golf carts which they have to transport the guests from point A to point B. If you are looking for a fun, wild or adventurous vacation than that’s not the place for you, but if you want to enjoy a quiet, romantic, and completely relaxed time and to completely recharge your batteries than I definitely recommend this place.
The hotel itself is the ultimate luxury experience consist of beach front or water villas, spread out all around the island to guarantee the maximum privacy for each guest. You have your own personal butler who is at your disposal 24/7 to take care of all your needs (although the truth is, there is really nothing to do after dinner time, expect to get a good night sleep and wake up fresh and early for a beautiful day at the beach, go for a diving trip or enjoy a yoga class at sunrise).
There is four different restaurants on the island: Sushi, International cuisine, Organic and Arabic. In the sushi one you can enjoy the tiger sharks which gather right below in groups every night and it’s quite intriguing to watch the. The international is in the main area, where is also located the pool and the bar where you can have a drink after the dinner and listen to some chill out music. The organic (which is also my favorite) grows its own vegetables and fruits in a garden right there and serves fresh fish caught up in the ocean the same day. The Arabic one is located right on the beach and there is also tents and lounge area where you can take a drink or a hookah before the dinner and enjoy the beautiful sunsets.
One of my favorite parts of course was the spa. It is so serene and I could just stay there all day enjoy one of their amazing treatments or massages.
It’s definitely a place worth visiting if you haven’t and if you have I am sure you agree with me that it’s just a magical place!
