It was a new beginning for Schiaparelli at the couture show yesterday with the debut collection of Bertrand Guyon, the successor of Marco Zanini and we can only congratulate him for the astonishing accomplishment. What we loved about the collection was the femininity and empowerment that was felt in every piece. The tailoring was done to perfection. Heavy brocades were masterfully mixed with transparent fabrics, embroideries and rhinestone to give the collection a classic and modern feeling at the same time.
The spirit of Elsa Schiaparelli herself was kept alive with the hot pink that was used in many of the pieces, the small brooches and the prints inspired by her work.
The fur coats were what mostly grabbed our attention. Each number was a stand out piece, a mixture of colors and different furs was what made each one of them unique.
There were several evening gowns which stood out like the hot pink chiffon goddess-like dress, a black velvet beauty trimmed with rhinestone around the back neckline and a white number with a splendid Greek inspired print in the front and bare shoulders.
